Take your short break with Days Inn Roadchef

19 November 2019

Planning that all-important staycation seems like a breeze until you’re stumped with where to go and what to do.

Never fear, Days Inn Roadchef has 17 locations spread around England, Scotland and Wales for you to base your short break from.

No matter where in the UK you want to visit this year, here are some ideas for taking your short break with us at Days Inn Roadchef.

The South of the UK has a range of attractions, all within reach of our three southern Days Inn locations.

From either Scotney South or North, you are within great reach of an abundance of cultural and historical attractions - most famously Winchester Cathedral! You’re also close to North Wessex Downs, renowned as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

Southampton is also a great choice for a short break, whether that’s spending a few days in the port city itself, or a trip packed with adventure to New Forest or South Downs National Park.

South West

Days Inn is ideal should you be looking for a British staycation as Taunton, Tewkesbury and Newport offer great access to beaches, coastline walks and South Wales.

The West Somerset Railway, the Wookey Hole Caves and Cheddar Gorge are must-see sights for visitors to this region. These Days Inn locations are selected with access to the towns and surrounding villages in mind.

South East

Our locations in the South East are convenient for exploring London and the West Midlands, with Watford Gap close to Althorp House and Silverstone racing circuit.

Both Maidstone and Sevenoaks are perfect for exploring local Kentish towns and historical sights such as Chartwell House and Hever Castle. The surrounding countryside is also a drawing point, with Elmey National Nature Reserve on the doorstep of either Days Inn hotels.

If you’re thinking of taking a short break somewhere in the North of England, Days Inn has plenty of locations to choose from. Base yourself in the Midlands, where Stafford and Cannock have excellent links to Birmingham city centre or Chesterfield for the Peak District.

If you want to visit the north-west, our Chester location is perfect for visits to Chester Zoo, Blue Planet Aquarium, and of course, the city itself for a cultural break.

If you fancy venturing further north, Kendal is an ideal place to stop for a break in the beautiful Lake District, while Days Inn Durham in the north-east is a great choice for coastal walks and day trips, alongside visits to both Durham and Newcastle city centres.

We also have two locations in close proximity to some of the most picturesque areas of Scotland; Lockerbie and Hamilton. Hamilton would be our pick for a convenient base if you’re considering a trip to cultural Glasgow.

Wherever you fancy going for your next short break, you are sure to find loads of amazing things to do to fill up your time. As our Roadchef locations are all based on motorway junctions, we are best situated for road trips to the surrounding areas!
