Warm Weather for the Beach over the Easter Holiday

If you’ve managed to get the time off from work recently over the Easter half-term holiday, or you have the kids in tow, there are some top destinations to go to throughout the UK to make best use of the weather. Today and tomorrow are expecting to see temperature ranging from 15 degree Celsius up to 20. This is great as typically the average temperature for April is around 12-13 degrees. We’ve suggested a few beaches worth exploring on the east coast of the UK.

If you’re based in the Midlands, you’re at least an hour drive to any seaside destination, for people in the east the choice becomes a bit wider, having a little more on offer.

Southend-on-Sea is in Essex, and an ideal location if you live near or just north of London, if you’re staying overnight at one of the Days Inn hotels, there is some nearby in the next county of Kent. The seaside resort of Southend-on-Sea offers a great amount to do with the kids with amusement arcades, rides, places to eat and plenty of souvenir and toyshops, it is also home to the Southend Pleasure Pier the longest pier in the world.

Hunstanton is based in Norfolk and offers a reasonably quiet destination compared to the bigger seaside towns along the coast. Hunstanton is large enough to keep you occupied and busy for the day, but quiet enough to take it easy and sit down for a portion of fish and chips. There is a large beach that stretches toward a cliff, which offers a great place for dog walking during certain times of the year. There are also typical seaside features such as arcades and gift shops available throughout this small town as well as nice places to eat. There is a large open lawn in the centre of the town overlooking the beach which makes a perfect spot for a picnic or a sit down.

Skegness is a little further up the coast based in Lincolnshire, a much easier destination to reach if based in the Midlands area. Skegness offers a busy central location, with places such as Fantasy Island looking in the neighbouring town of Ingoldmells . Skegness itself overs a busier destination with a whole variety of amusement arcades, rides, crazy golf and souvenir shops. Also being a busy town as well as a seaside resort, there are a variety of high street shops, located just a short distance from the beach.
