If you’re looking for somewhere special to spend Halloween this year, Chester has a number of spine-tingling events and activities on offer. There’s more to this historic city than meets the eye; steeped in 2000 years of history, and with hundreds of ghostly sightings, this is one of England’s most haunted cities. There’s plenty to do in Chester this Halloween and below we’ve picked just a few of the best events and activities happening throughout October:
Take to the cobbled streets with a guide who will take you on a night-time journey around the eerie haunts of Chester telling you terrifying tales of the city's mysterious past. Book yourself onto the Dark stories in the Tower tour for spine chilling sessions in the ancient Water Tower or book a session inside the Gothic Town Hall and Combermere Abbey. Tours run every Saturday and there are special tours on the 31st October.
Take your children to Chester Zoo and see the newest exhibition of 19 life-like robotic dinosaurs. See them move, roar spit water and come to life right before your eyes! Running until the 4th November, the dinosaur exhibition is included within your admission price.
The Old Hall at Tatton Park will be hosting a Halloween Hauntings event from 23rd October to 31st October. Hear ghostly tales, solve the mystery quiz and take part in face painting and mask making. A great event for all the family to enjoy.
The popular SCAREIUM event is back for 2012. This event held at the Blue Planet Aquarium is held on the 29th and 30th October and includes an evening of eerie encounters, a Terror Tour and underwater deadly diver shows
From 24th October to 2nd November Gullivers World in Warrington will be hosting a spooktacular week for families with plenty of haunted attractions and ghoulish activities. This will all finish with a firework display on the 3rd November.
