A whole host of entertainment awaits at this year’s Three Counties Show. The Main Arena will play host to a fantastic line up of livestock and animal displays as well as some exciting visual treats. ‘Britain’s Got Talent’ semi-finalists Boldog Lings will wow the crowds with their freestyle motorcycle displays whilst the Red Devils Parachute Team will entertain from the skies. New for 2014, the Malvern Active Sports Village invites visitors to try a range of fun and alternative sports whilst traditional entertainment can be found on the ever present village green, from folk music and comedy to simply admiring the view with a glass of Pimms.
The Malvern Royal Three Counties Show hosts competitions in a vast range of areas. Exhibits are held for pig, equine, sheep, cattle and poultry, as well as the Boer Goat Show and sheep shearing competition. Bees and honey are on display alongside cheese and dairy produce and the Cheese Board Competition whilst drinks are covered by the International Cider and Perry Championship. The show also plays host to the Agricultural Contractor of the Year Award 2014. Traditional skills are displayed in the form of farriery, smithing and wrought ironwork whilst the Husqvarna Pole Climbing Competition sees participants scamper up 25m high poles in the quickest time possible.
Set against the scenic backdrop of the Malvern Hills, the Three Counties Showground has hosted the Royal Three Counties Show since 1958, though the Herefordshire Agricultural Society had been celebrating British farming on the counties streets for some 200 years prior. Now known as the Three Counties Agricultural Society, the charity runs the Malvern based showground in promotion of rural, environmental and countryside activities. The Royal Three Counties Show is just one of a jam packed schedule of events held throughout the year with dog shows, antique and toy fairs, caravan clubs, classic car displays and pony competitions being just a few of the other events on offer. A short drive via the A38, the three Counties Showground lies a mere 12 miles from Tewkesbury, making it a prime location from which to take in the showground’s events, whether the Royal Three Counties Show or one of the many other year round offerings.
