With half term underway and Halloween just around the corner, there’s never been a better time to book a family break in the UK! Here at Days Inn, we have some fantastic locations, many of which are filled with spooky attractions and events to give you and your family a frightful yet exciting Halloween! Below are 3 of the best places we highly recommend to enjoy the scariest night of the year:
There’s loads going on in Kent this Halloween and half term and luckily we have two hotels in Kent, at Sevenoaks and Maidstone. At The Hop Farm in Tonbridge, Freak Week takes place between the 25th and 31st October. These nights offer guests five spooky attractions and a Freak Show to scare the living daylights out of you! Watch out for scary actors roaming the park too! This event is not suitable for children under 11! Alternatively why not visit Leeds Castle where you can take part in mask making, ghoulish craft marking and gruesome ghost tours.
Our hotel in Taunton is perfect for exploring the beautiful county of Somerset, and if it’s a spooktacular time you’re after, the Wookey Hole Caves is the place to be. From the 27th October to 4th November, the 50,000 year old caves at Wookey Hole will be host to over 20 underground attractions including taking a creepy tour around the caves, a Halloween Circus, the mirror maze and of course, the famous Wookey Witch.
Staffordshire is packed full of Halloween events and we have two hotels you can stay in at Cannock and Stafford. The UK’s number one theme park, Alton Towers, will be holding the 2012 Sacrefest from the 19th to 31st October. Families and thrill seekers can enjoy all of the rides after dark until 9pm, as well as a number of live shows, chilling attractions and costumed characters! At the Trentham Estate from the 27th to 4th November, there is plenty of half term and Halloween fun including a nature trail, spine tingling activities in the Monkey Forest and wilderness survival skills in the wood.
