Music Festival Stopover Guide

If you’re a big music fan and are looking for somewhere reasonable to stay that won’t break the bank the Days Inn can offer a choice of quality venues across the country. We’ve suggested a few places located near some of our branches, recommending some of the best gigs worth visiting around some of the best venues in the country

Glastonbury Festival: 24th-28th June - Taunton

Glastonbury Festival is The festival of the year when it comes to the biggest number and popularity and the best place to visit if you want to be involved in this event. Taking place between 24th-28th of June, the event hosts some of the biggest names in the music industry from the UK and around the world of performing. Our Taunton Hotel is located approximately 45 minutes away for the festival in Glastonbury.

Y Not Festival: July 31st _ 2 Auguts - Derbyshire

The Y Not Festival is taking place at Pikehall in Derbyshire, located in the Peak District National Park surrounded by nature and wildlife. Part of the line up include names such as Snoop Dog, Basement Jaxx, We are Scientists, Less Than Take and much more over this three day event this summer. We have a Days Inn located in Chesterfield, located just outside of the Peak District, making this a cheap an ideal stop off for people venturing form the North or South. 

Kendal Calling 30th July -  2nd August - Cumbria

This is a very popular festival for indie and alternative music lovers, with much more to offer alongside music, this includes the Real Ale Festival, exhibiting a mix of local ales from the area. There are lots of stalls and locations where you can pick up all of your essential festival gear and some great places you can eat throughout the day. Kendal calling is located just North of Kendal town, in the village of Hackthorpe, located to the east of the Lake District, and a few miles north from our Kendal hotel location. Part of the line-up include Elbow, Snoop Dogg, the Kaiser Chiefs and dozens more large ans mall names playing. 

T in the Park – 10th-12th July – Perthshire

One of the biggest music event North of the border with around 85,000 fans showing up for the T in the Park events, with A line up of some of the biggest names in the industry, such as Kasabian, David Guetta, The Libertines and Sam Smith Headlining. Amongst many more over this 3 day festival weekend.  The music event is taking place at Strathallan Castle in Pembrokeshire. If you’re coming from the south of the UK, our Hamilton offers a good stopover for the festival  giving you a place to get a good nights sleep before the festivities.

The Social – 12th September - Kent

The Social is a music festival with a mix of the worlds greatest dance music acts, brining you a boutique festival bringing dance music to Kent for 1 day. The Social Starts on the 12th September with a bug list of names from electronic music. This gig is taking place at Mote Park in Maidstone located a very short ride from our Maidstone Days Inn.
