If you wanted to sample another country on your epic voyage, why not consider a stopover at Magor which is located just over the River Severn in Wales, a small divert from the M5, this is a great little stopover if you’re on tour of the United Kingdom and are not pushed for time. This accommodation is a 20 mile drive through to Cardiff and a convenient location for Newport, an excellent option if you were considering a tour of Wales on your onward journey to John O’Groats.
The Days Inn Stafford and Days Inn Cannock are relative close in distance, which gives you two great options if you’re driving by the area. We’re located a relatively short drive to one of the UK’s biggest cities, Birmingham and a 25 mile journey to one of the country’s biggest and best theme parks, Alton Towers.
Our Chester Days Inn is located a small drive away from the M6, but offers a great base if you wanted to see the sights of some of the nations biggest and famous cities. Liverpool is located a short distance from our Chester accommodation, with Manchester also less than an hours journey from the Days Inn. Chester itself has some interesting features such as Chester Zoo and Chester Racecourse.
Kendal is a recommended spot, less for the metropolitan influence but more for the natural beauty. Located next to the Lake District this offers an alternative to your previous destinations on your Lands End to John O’Groat road trip. It’s recommended that you take time having a walk around the local Lake Windermere and attempt to climb Englands highest peak – Scafell Pike.
Our accommodation in Lockerbie offers a quieter solution if you’re looking for something less intense that some of the towns previously visited on your journey. Located in a rural setting, Lockerbie is surrounded by very few villages which have made this hotel the perfect tranquil escape. There are facilities on site for food and amenities are available in this 42 en-suite room Days Inn.
Our Hamilton accommodation is ideally situated near one of Scotland’s biggest cities, Glasgow a recommended stop if you wanted to get more city experiences in before your trek further north. Hamilton is located toward the end of the M74 on route toward Lands End, but is unfortunately the last stop from the Days Inn RoadChef for your onward journey. Due to the vastness and the emptiness of the highlands, there are many small villages and town dotted throughout, where you can easily find affordable bed and breakfast or accommodation alternatives.
