Taunton and Visiting Cheddar

Situated about a 45 minute drive away from Taunton, Cheddar is completely unique and a fantastic place to visit for a day out. Its distinct feature is that it boasts Britain's largest Gorge, which can be seen and explored in many ways. From the dramatic cliffs to the ancient stalactite caverns, this famous Nature Reserve appeals to all members of the family. There are some superb opportunities for caving and rock climbing too.

Cheddar has a rich history of farming and cheese making and authentic cave aged Cheddar is available today from the Cheddar Gorge Cheese Company shop.
