5 days out for families in Chesterfield

If you're heading to Chesterfield this weekend with the family, there's loads of cool stuff you can do to keep both you and the kids amused. We've picked 5 of the best.

Chesterfield Bowl

There's nothing like a few rounds of bowling to settle the odd family dispute or friendly rivalry and the Chesterfield Bowl features 16 lanes which can even be enjoyed in darkness with glow in the dark lanes at selected times during the weekend.

Queens Park Sports Centre

Keeping with the sporting theme for those of you looking forward to an active weekend, Chesterfield's Queens Park Sports centre features a humungous 185ft flume-style water slide, diving boards, teaching pool and 33m main pool. There's even a toddler pond, gymnastics, swimming lessons and much more on site. Something for everyone, literally.

Chuckles Play Centre

If your kids are 10 years old or younger, they'll love the Chuckles indoor play centre which boasts a bouncy castle, ride-ons and, for the little ones under 2, an enclosed play area.

Queens Park

A miniature railway, boating lake, cricket facilities and huge adventure playground make Queens Park a fun-packed day out for the family. And, when you've tried out everything it has to offer, you can relax and play traditional family games on the considerable open space available on site.

The Jungle

If you're looking for somewhere to take the kids and know they like climbing, sliding and generally pretending they're a member of the armed forces, The Jungle is the perfect place to visit. Featuring squashy assault courses, slides and tunnels, it'll keep them busy and allow you to chill out. Toddlers are welcome and will enjoy their own play area and toddler sessions.
