The summer’s not over just yet and at our Days Inn Tewkesbury hotel we’ve noticed that there’s actually quite a few exciting events left for the whole family to enjoy. With the bank holiday weekend just around the corner and the school holidays drawing to a close, there has never been a better time to visit this beautiful part of England and take advantage of these upcoming events. Below are some events we highly recommend for families:

Greenbelt Festival: 24th – 27th August

Held at Cheltenham Racecourse, 35 minutes from our hotel, Greenbelt is an arts, faith and justice festival that has a long history, almost 40 years old. It is one of the most celebrated arts festivals held in the UK and has a varied line-up of music, performing arts, literature and comedy. Children are well catered for with a huge variety of activities to get involved in.

Worcester Music Festival: 24th - 27th August

Now celebrating its 5th year, the Worcester Music Festival returns to take over more than 32 venues. More than 400 live performances will take place across the bank holiday weekend with a mix of talented local and UK artists. All performances are free and there will also be a number of workshops and activities for families to get involved. The city centre of Worcester is just 20 minutes from our Tewkesbury hotel.

Gloucester History Festival: 27th August – 9th September

The city of Gloucester is situated 25 minutes away from our Tewkesbury hotel and the new festival plans to celebrate over 2,000 years of history. Gloucester History Festival has a packed programme of 140 events that will take place across the city at The Docks, Gloucester Cathedral, the City Museum and Gloucester Quays. There’s something for all the family including interesting talks, fascinating tours and entertainment from historic re-enactments.

Malvern Autumn Show: 29th – 30th September

Held at the Three Counties Showground in Malvern, just 25 minutes from our hotel, the Malvern Autumn Show is a huge celebration of food, the countryside, gardening and nostalgia. Food and gardening lovers can expect to enjoy everything from cooking demonstrations and gardening displays to duck herding and craft activities. This year, French chef, Jean-Christophe will be offering his professional cooking skills and advice.

Cheltenham Racecourse 'The Showcase': 19th - 20th October

The new racing year at Cheltenham will soon be here and to open the National Hunt year, The Showcase will take place over two days on the 19th and 20th October.
