Stonehenge is one of the best-known prehistoric monuments in Europe that is considered one of the most visited tourist attractions in the UK and considered one of the wonders of the world. If you’re on route to your destination and are located near Wiltshire it’s well worth making the special visit down to this great site.

Stonehenge and its visitor centre is open throughout most of the year, except for Christmas Eve & Christmas Day. Making it an ideal choice to visit with the children this coming half term holiday.  There are family tickets available for £36.10 (2 adults, 3 children), which makes it an excellent saving off the full price.

What’s On This Coming February

14th - 15th February: Expert Guy Hagg demonstrates all things essential to Neolithic life, from fire lighting, game preparation using flint tools, early cooking methods to making weapons, bone and  antler tools and the utensils used in everyday Neolithic life.

16th – 20th February: The Stone Age is being brought to life at half term as we uncover the ancient past of the mysterious stones and explore the history of their role in the lives of prehistoric people.

Getting there 

If you’re stopping over at our Southampton hotel, Stonehenge is located around 30 miles away, and will take less than an hour. Between October and March the opening times are between 9.30am – 5pm daily.
